It does seem just a tad premature to say that the iPhone apps are destined for failure. &lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;My usage pattern with the iPhone apps (I bought mine on July 18) reflects what you outline above:&lt;br&gt;    * E-mail is my killer app (though Twittelator gets used a lot, too)&lt;br&gt;    * I&#039;ve downloaded several apps that I have rarely or never used&lt;br&gt;    * When I do use the apps, they tend to be in short bursts.&lt;br&gt;&lt;br&gt;But you know what? I still think the iPhone apps are full of promise, and I&#039;m excited to watch the new developments. Let&#039;s not write them off when they&#039;re only just getting started.</description>
