r something online and the item arrives damaged, who’s on the hook to replace the item? To me this isn’t a warranty issue, it’s a seller issue. After all, the item was fine when it left the manufacturing plant, and UPS caused the problem

Nothing but problems with my first and only order with ShopNBC. Extremely rude and obnoxious people in service areas after you purchase. Were to the point of yelling at me when I questioned the hold-up on a purchase that they had sent a confirmation on. I subsequently found a website for the jewelry wholesaler for one item I purchased that basically stated they (the wholesaler) 'dump' their non-sold items returned from retailers at this site to get rid of them. Now if they admit this, what does it say for the quality of the items for sale? You can take a guess.

Don't buy Margies furniture. Have had numerous problems with quality control. Having to return flawed furniture is very expensive. Shopping NBC.com is reluctant to reimburse for return shipping. They never seem to get your FAXed shipping charges--maybe you will forget to lose the paperwork.

The last Margie disaster will result in me not shopping at Shop NBC.com. Do have to admit that I did receive a few good quality items. Also, return shipping is based on what was initially charged not what price you had to pay.

It's not worth the headaches

Hi Christine, welcome to the site.

Just to be clear, this wasn't my issue, just something I'd run across via word of mouth.

I have not had any customer service problems with SNBC. I am not happy with most of the quality of the jewelry I have received from them. I have returned most everything. The gold is thin and most of it is hollow, not durable and looks like costume jewelry in person. The quality of the gemstones are disappointing also. You get what you pay for. Lets face it, you cannot buy a Byzantine 18K bracelet for $240.00 of any quality but poor. I received a ruby ring that looked like pink sapphires and paid $800.00 for it. Of course good blood red rubies would cost thousands. Its what you are willing to settle for. They say their diamonds are G-H but my jeweler says more like J. FedEx left a package at my door with a rather expensive necklace in it. The package was not there when I got home. ShopNBC reimbursed me the entire amount. Of course I had to fill out a claim but I was treated with respect and the process took approximately two weeks. FedEx ultimately was held responsible for not obtaining a signature. I am very surprised to hear about your problem. This does, however, make me think twice about purchasing furniture items I was thinking about. If the quality is not as expected it will be rather pricey to return.
