My buddy Jason Falls just emailed me about a new project that Maker’s Mark has kicked off. Using the election cycle crazy, they’ve launched an effort to promote…. the Cocktail Party. Certainly check out the site, but watch the video below ASAP. Quite amusing.

Composition on this one is great, of course, but there is emotion in this photo. I’ve always been fascinated by these floating Lanterns and that emotion coming through reminds me why.
One of my favorite parts of the non-work related internet (which seems to be a terribly small part) is the amazing photojournalism you find. One of my newest finds is the Boston Globe’s The Big Picture photoblog. They have some absolutely amazing image (including the one above).

The blog was terribly quiet last week as I found myself in 2 solid days of usability testing and an on-site client presentation, with a trip that involved thunderstorms, buses, taxies, rental cars, and small airports.
As a way to make up for the quiet, I’m passing along some fantastic LEGO creations that I’ve found recently. Hopefully that will make up for the slacking while I get caught up!

Amazing photo overall – the motion capture combined with the well dressed woman on a bicycle make for a great photo overall. Plus the muted colors with the vivid red coat is a fantastic contrast.
