SUMMARY

 

Developing and executing comprehensive, break through and highly effective customer acquisition and brand awareness building initiatives and strategies for the Digital Tax Solutions division of H&R Block.  Lead and direct all elements of the marketing plan including offline and online advertising, viral/word of mouth/social media programs and the hrblock.com website.  Work closely with strategic partners to enable business objectives.  Responsible for a multi-million dollar advertising budget and the creation of highly effective plans and initiatives to drive the business and the brand.  Lead and direct a team of associates in respective department.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES                       

1.      Strategic Planning

Ø      Develop and evolve marketing strategy building product awareness and driving customer acquisition and retention.

Ø      Direct responsibility for delivery of agreed upon new customer goals including search, affiliate, online, email and offline marketing programs. Track and report on revenue goals weekly, changing tactics as needed to ensure results and managing spend across programs to deliver the maximum return from all resources.

Ø      Drive brand level social media programs including integrated marketing campaigns and ongoing community based programs.

Ø      Manage the web and website relating to brand image – on such venues as blogs, feedback forums, press releases, etc.

Ø      Manage division public relations and communications activities across both traditional and non-traditional media (bloggers, online outreach, product review tours).

Ø      Identify and monitor activity of key competitors and develop blunting strategies and tactics, as appropriate.

Ø      Partner effectively with internal teams (for example: retail marketing, product, corporate communications, information technology).

 

2.      Resource Management

Ø      Attract, develop and motivate a team of exceptional marketing directors, managers and associates. 

Ø      Provide leadership and ongoing status updates and communications for  respective department. Coach managers on interviewing skills, supervising techniques, performance management, and training options.

Ø      Work closely with necessary parties to negotiate with external vendors regarding program/project evaluation and the implementation.

Ø      Manage department. Review and approve supply order forms signed by department managers; approve local purchases; and approve invoices for payment.

 

Qualifications:

QUALIFICATIONS

 

Minimum Requirements

 

1.       Bachelor’s degree in related field or the equivalent through a combination of education and work experience.

 

2.       Eight years management experience.

 

3.       Ten years professional experience in marketing with extensive experience in media & online marketing and a strong knowledge in web 2.0 and social networking.

 

4.       Proven track record of managing marketing teams that have driven double digit customer acquisition growth.

 

5.       Extensive experience with online direct marketing channels (search, affiliate, online, email) as well as offline direct response channels (radio, direct mail, inserts).

 

6.       Experience leveraging test protocols (A/B, Split-run, etc) to optimize campaigns/channels.

 

7.       Experience managing websites.

 

8.       Strong people skills and the ability to manage through interpersonal people related issues.

 

9.       Experience developing and managing a multi-million dollar budget (greater than $5 million).

 

10.       Demonstrated leadership/management, interpersonal, strategic planning, presentation, negotiation, influence management and risk assessment skills.

 

11.       Ability to work with external vendors, guide groups toward a vision, and deal with ambiguity.

 

12.       Possess good business liaison capabilities.
