Description:

Weare looking for an amazing Community/Content Manager for the hottest, most interactive destination for teens online.  Community Managers will work closely with the executive management team, content managers, and technical personnel to create a vibrant, safe, and FUN community for our users.

The Community Manager must be able to create, administer and support contests along with affiliate programs.  They will create community topic schedules and be responsible for their timely execution.  In addition, they will collaborate with other team members on production calendars and integrated community programs to support content initiative.  They must be able to train and manage a team of site moderators and safety personal on the use of management tools.

Using grassroots marketing, the Community Manager will work to actively expand the size of the community using existing members and moderators.  They will proactively identify usage, topical, and content oriented trends community wide as well as maintaining community quality and atmosphere by providing consistent relevant topics and contests.

THE ENVIRONMENT  
A startup and has been in production for long enough!  We’re launching the site within days.  The site is a social networking platform for 10-14 year old girls and it was built for the ground up with their entertainment and safety in mind.  Great features such as Blogging, chatting, video sharing, and more have all been built into a dazzling framework that is certain to impress.  Once you get to see this site – you’ll really get an understanding as to why everyone who’s been involved is so excited about our upcoming launch.

Qualifications:

 

  • 3 or more years experience in online community management in a community manager, message board administrator, social network manager, or equivalent role.
  • Excellent project management skills:  experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and working effectively with people of varying expertise (technical, creative, and editorial)
  • Experience managing global, 24/7 communities.
  • Exemplary written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage/mentor moderators, junior community managers, interns, and collaborate with team members.
  • Highly organized and customer service oriented.
  • Practical knowledge of online development tools/languages including Flash, Photoshop, and XHTML
  • Experience working in a startup environment
  • Strong creative, conceptual, and problem-solving skills
  • A BA or BS degree
  • Experience administering COPPA compliance preferred
  • A deep understanding, and passion for the teen/pre-teen space preferred
