It warms my heart to see news like this: LEGO has apparently been working with fans to design new LEGO Space sets via LEGO Factory. I can’t wait to buy mine, they look very cool. Congrats to Chris and Mark! Check out more pics at Gizmodo.

Video: There’s a New Conversation

February 28th, 2008 | Comments | Posted in Business Strategy, Tricks of the Trade

A couple weeks back, I was honored to join an event in NYC organized by Ted Shelton from The Conversation Group. The event, “There’s a new conversation” focused on what’s happened in the 10 years since the launch of The Cluetrain Manifesto. More on the event, as well as clips of the other speakers on the official site: CluetrainAt10.com.

Ted invited me to speak and I happily jumped on board. Of course, he failed to mention I’d be following up the incredible Doc Searls. Thanks, Ted. It turned out fine though, even though I was having an off day. If you’re interested, the video of the session is embedded below.

I was also interviewed at the event by Blog Talk Radio’s John Havens, if the video isn’t enough Jake for ya.

To be clear, the presentation presents my opinions, and my opinions alone.

Huge thanks to the Creative Commons or otherwise licensed photos. LEGO set images are copyright The LEGO Group.

All others were taken myself.

Want to know more about LEGO Universe?

August 16th, 2007 | Comments | Posted in Uncategorized

As you may know, I’ve been working with LEGO on their LEGO Universe project, helping drive and implement strategy for community relations. It’s all highly, highly top secret stuff, but if you’re interested in learning more about this very cool Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) head to the Ypulse Tween Mashup. My client and friend, Mark Hansen is part of a panel called “Old School to New School”.

The Ypulse Tween Mashup lineup just keeps getting better and better. Late last week we confirmed two more speakers for the Old School To New School panel. Mark William Hansen is a director at the LEGO group who has been leading the development of their new Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG) called LEGO Universe.
